Swimming goggles with adjustment system
The present invention is related to the sports sector, and more specifically to the swimming goggles sector. More particularly, the present invention relates to an adjustment mechanism for swimming goggles.
The known fastening systems of the swimming goggles to the swimmer's head are made of flexible elastic straps that have different degrees of elasticity and are made of different types of materials. The strips are adjusted by a generally complicated drive system, which is usually based on the sliding of the elastic strips through a pin, or two, of different material. Making the adjustment of the glasses is tedious and uncomfortable because sliding the strips through the pin is complicated. In addition, the strips wear out due to the friction that occurs between them and the pin when sliding, so they can break after repeated use.
On the other hand, the flexible elastic straps of the known swimming goggles fastening systems do not provide a uniform pressure distribution on the swimmer's head, causing physical discomfort in the swimmer's head.
The type of adjustment by wheel and rack is known in helmets used in cycling, however, in this case the adjustment does not fit correctly to the anatomy of the user's head, causing discomfort and / or discomfort.
In view of the foregoing, it is an object of the present invention to solve the drawbacks of the settings of the known swimming goggles.
In order to obtain its objectives, the present invention discloses swimming goggles with adjustment system comprising two pins joined at the back by a pin length adjustment mechanism for the anatomical adjustment of the glasses to the head of an user. Optionally, said pin length adjustment mechanism comprises a mechanism drive wheel which, preferably, consists of a rack mechanism driven by said drive wheel.
The mechanism for adjusting the length of the glasses pins allows an anatomical adjustment of the glasses with the simple turn of a wheel. The mechanism allows a continuous micrometric adjustment, that is, the position of the pins can be adjusted very precisely and without the different adjustment positions being staggered.
In one embodiment of the invention, the pin length adjustment mechanism comprises an anatomical housing that receives the pins. In addition, optionally, the mechanism for adjusting the length of the pins comprises at least one support piece that comes into contact with the occipital part of the head of a user and that prevents the friction of the pins with the skin in said part. In this way, the user can operate the adjustment mechanism without the movement of the pins or the rotation of the wheel causing physical discomfort due to, for example, friction.
Preferably, the pins are hingedly connected to the front of the glasses. More preferably, the front part of the glasses comprises more than one hole that receives a protrusion located on the pin to make an articulated joint between the pins and the front part of the glasses, the protrusion of the pin being able to be extracted and introduced into said holes manually. The user can place the pins in the position that best suits their head size and then finish adjusting the length of the pins using the adjustment mechanism to achieve an anatomical adaptation.
Preferably, the pins are made of a semi-rigid material, so that the pins are made of a material more resistant to possible friction with the different elements of the adjustment mechanism, eliminating the risk of breakage by wear of the pins.
In one embodiment of the invention, the pins have an anatomical shape to favor the perfect fit of the glasses to the contour of a user's head.
Preferably, the glasses comprise a joint for each lens, to favor the adaptation of the lenses to the face of a user avoiding the entry of water into the eye area.
For better understanding, some drawings of an embodiment of the glasses with adjustment system object of the present invention are attached by way of explanatory but not limitative example.
Figure 1 shows a perspective view of swimming goggles that include an embodiment of the adjustment system object of the present invention.
Figure 2 shows an elevation view of the back of the swimming goggles of Figure 1, placed around the head of a user.
Figure 3 shows a profile view of glasses with a second embodiment of the adjustment system object of the present invention, placed around the head of a user.
Figure 4 shows a profile view of glasses with a third embodiment of the adjustment system object of the present invention and an enlarged detail of the area of attachment between the pins and the lenses of said third embodiment.
A first embodiment of the adjustment system for swimming goggles object of the present invention is seen in Figures 1 and 2. The goggles -1-are attached to the head -100-of a user by means of a perimeter frame that surrounds the head of the user formed by two pins -2-, -2'-of semi-rigid plastic material joined at the back by an adjustment mechanism -3- in their respective areas -22-, -22'-narrowing. The reduced width of the pins -2 -, - 2'-in their areas -22-, -22'-narrowing favor their movement in and out of the adjustment mechanism -3-.
The adjustment mechanism -3-is arranged on the back of the glasses -1-and comprises a wheel -31-which is used to drive the length adjustment mechanism of the pins -2-, -2'-by wheel and rack By turning the wheel -31- (see rotation arrows in figure 2) it is possible to move the areas -22-, -22'-of narrowing of the pins -2-, -2'-inwards or outwards ( see displacement arrows in figure 2) of the adjustment mechanism -3-, carrying out the length adjustment of the pins -2-, -2'-and, therefore, the adjustment of the perimeter frame that both pins -2- , -2'-form together with the adjustment mechanism -3-. The reduced width of the pins -2-, -2'-in their areas -22-, -22'-of narrowing allows the movement in and out of the adjustment mechanism -3-.
The adjustment mechanism -3- comprises two pieces -21-, -21'-of support that come into contact with the occipital part of the user's head to protect it from rubbing which can
cause the displacement of the areas -22-, -22'-of narrowing of the pins -2-, -2 '
when the wheel -31- of the adjustment mechanism -3- is operated.
As can be seen in the embodiment of Figure 3, the glasses comprise lenses -12-in the front of the glasses -1-. The glasses -1-adapt to the user's eye area through joints -11-that avoid physical discomfort from the contact of the glasses. In this embodiment, the front part of the glasses ends in an arm -24-to which the pin -2 is articulated in an articulated way by means of a joint -23-. Thanks to the joint -23-, the pin -2-can be arranged at different angles with respect to the arm -24-, allowing the user to adjust the parts -21-, -21'-of support of the adjustment mechanism -3-vertically on the back of the head -100- and place the pins in the position that is most comfortable for you.
In the embodiment shown in Figure 4, the front part of the glasses -1-also ends in an arm -24-. The joining of said arm -24- and pin -2-can be carried out in three different positions. The arm -24-comprises three holes -15-, -15'-, -15 '' - into which a projection -29-arranged at the end of the pin -2-to connect the pin -2-to the arm -24-. This type of joint is also articulated, as in the case of the embodiment of Figure 3, and can also be displaced along the arm -24- to provide a better fit of the glasses -1-to the head - 100-user. The projection -29-of the pin -2-can be removed from the holes -15-, -15'-, -15 '' - and can be manually reintroduced to make this adjustment (see arrows in figure 4).
The holes and the projection have been represented in a circular shape but can take any type of shape that allows an articulated joint between the pin and the arm and a manual adjustment between the different positions.
Although the invention has been presented and described with reference to embodiments thereof, it will be understood that these are not limiting of the invention, so that multiple constructive or other details that could be evident to the technicians of the sector could be variable after Interpret the subject matter disclosed in the present description, claims and drawings. Thus, all variants and equivalents will be included within the scope of the present invention if they can be considered to be within the broadest scope of the following claims.
